The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of the changing times of the architectural colors of the Rinshashi Mosque. To this end, this study summarizes the theoretical basis for the historical background and color characteristics of Chinese mosque architecture through literature review. This provides a basis for the times for the framework for field investigation and analysis. Through field investigations on the architectural colors of the Rinshashi Mosque, the distribution of architectural colors and color characteristics of the mosques in each period are identified. For the objective analysis of architectural colors, this paper selects the Munsell color system. The color characteristics of each period were summarized through the analysis of the Rinshashi Mosque color survey. Therefore, the results of this study showed that the color characteristics of the Yuan Dynasty mosque architecture were concentrated on the high brightness and low chroma of the YR-based colors. The color characteristics of the Ming Dynasty mosque architecture were concentrated on the high brightness and low chroma of the BG and R-based colors. The color characteristics of the Qing Dynasty mosque architecture were concentrated on the high brightness and medium chroma of the Y-based colors. The color characteristics of modern mosque architecture were concentrated on the high brightness and low chroma of the Y and GYbased colors. In terms of the characteristics of each period, the distribution of colors of casting was similar, but the secondary and emphasized colors differed according to the times. This can be said to be the result of changes in architectural decorative colors as the architectural colors of Rinsha Mosque are combined with architectural colors over time. This study will serve as foundational reference material for the preservation and succession of the architectural colors of Linxia City mosques and is expected to provide insights for future research on architectural colors from an integration perspective.
