There are different types of pressure reducing valves depending on the spool shape, actuation method, size and application. In this study a pin-type reducing valve with spool and sleeve was considered. The inlet pressure was assumed constant while the outlet pressure was to be varied for different actuating force and flow settings. Before installing such a valve, there is a need to know about the ranges of flow rate and pressure that are possible for different values of actuator force. That is where such a study is needed.
