This study set out to explore alternative spaces to change the education space in ways fit for the current dominant mechanistic viewpoint of the world, regarding young children as the subjects of independent thinking and defining education as a process of learning actively through thinking. The purpose of the present study is to investigate spaces capable of emergence on their own based on the definition of young children as independent beings. For this purpose, the investigators defined the concept of creative emergent space and analyzed the types of space through the theoretical consideration of education space for young children. Good overseas cases were analyzed to identify the characteristic elements of space and promote the actualization of space. There were four types of creative emergent space: the first one was to form an identity through physical experiences; the second one was to create a space atmosphere for the cultivation of will; the third one was to create an implicit order through a thinking process; and the final one was to create an organic space for relations. Space characteristics for the actualization of the types include corporality, rhythmicity, life, projection, and penetration. Case analysis was conducted to identify specific space elements.
