The Purpose of this study was to suggest a new method estimating the contribution of each body segment in performing standing vertical jump and to verify the relation between the relative jump-performing ability and the level of contribution of each body segment through calculating the kinetic and kinematic variables of standing vertical jump performed by perfectly unregulated body segment. In order to achieve the objective of this research, twenty undergraduate students in the twenties without any musculoskeletal system disorder were selected as subjects. Each subject was given 10 tries to determine the standing vertical jump. To evaluate the affect of each body segment during the standing vertical jump, the position of each segment and relative velocity was measured. The force in each segment, impulse in each segment, velocity of the bodies centers of gravity(COG) during take off, COG`s maximum velocity, and ground reaction force were measured to verify the contribution of each body segment. The results of the research is as shown the contribution percentage of each segment of the body during the standing vertical jump showed that upper limbs had 6.59%(±0.67), while the trunk was 30.37%(±3.54), and the lower limbs 63.04%(±3.25). And there were no differences found between the high jumping subject and low jumping subject in the case of upper limbs. However, significant differences were showed in the trunk and lower limbs of the body. No significant differences were found from within the subject. The maximum velocity during the standing high jump showed no significant differences between both high and low performing subjects. However, significant differences were found for the initial velocity during take-off of the jump.
