This study examines the direct and indirect impact on air pollution by 1) the regional manufacturing industry’s production output and 2) industrial electric power use. We also analyze the effects of the environmental regulation on the air pollution emissions and productivity of manufacturing industries in “5+2” specific regions in Korea using panel approaches with period SUR. The results show that manufacturing industries outputs affect to raise the air pollution emissions as well as energy consumption. Especially, refined fuel manufacturing outputs affect the air pollution emissions seriously. However, the regulation effects are not significant to decrease emissions for increasing the productivity of manufacturing industries. It means that the Korea is needed to invest the environmental technologic R&D based on the regional differences..
